More than Just a Coffeeshop
Q Café was founded with a simple focus: Be A Good Neighbor! We’re a 501(c)(3) non-profit/non-religious café that supports local artists and musicians via our live music venue and art gallery; we host various community events; and partner with and support other local non-profit groups and organizations. By sharing our venue, resources, time and talents, we hope to show our commitment to our neighbors and community as a whole… and to inspire others to think (and do) similarly as they are able!

How We Did It Do It.
One of the most common questions we’re asked is “how do I start my own non-profit coffeeshop?” More people than ever are realizing the impact that a friendly local venue can have on its community, and many people are interested in learning more about starting their own variation of a community coffeehouse.
The short answer: it’s not easy (but it’s definitely worth it)!
The longer answer, along with some insights of what worked for us (as well as what didn’t!), can be found here: Starting Your Own (Non-Profit) Coffeeshop. Please take some time to read this through, and know that we’re always interested in helping others answer questions that may come up in their own process of starting such a venture. That being said… we often don’t have enough time to speak with everyone directly, and answer each question posed to us. For that reason, we’ve assembled an assortment of information that we believe can be very helpful to those beginning their own coffeeshop… our Quickstarters Manual is perhaps the best compilation of our info, thoughts, and answers to these more complex questions. To obtain a copy of this manual we suggest a $50 donation which can be made through our paypal account. At this time we are revising and updating the manual, so it’s currently not available, but will be soon. Please send any questions or inquiries to office@qcafe.org.
